STEFAN PRETORIUS
Stefan has been immersed in martial arts since the age of 12, that is over 20 years of training, competing, and teaching. His journey began with Kickboxing, where he earned his black belt in 2010 and placed 3rd at the World Kickboxing Championships, after becoming a multiple South African champion.
He went on to earn his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and turned professional in MMA, competing internationally for organisations including EFC, UAE Warriors, and Versus. He has competed in multiple BJJ championships as well.
Stefan began sharing his knowledge in 2012, starting with kids in Springs under his BJJ coach, before returning to his hometown of Heidelberg to open Ability Academy. He has since coached hundreds of students of all ages and levels.
His true passion lies in coaching children and teens. Teaching has given him a real sense of meaning. He enjoys watching the growth the kids get out of the sport, especially the confidence.
